Shirley Ann Paquette, 85, of Perrysburg, OH, died Saturday, May 4, 2019 in St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg, OH. Born August 7, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Lester and Myrtle (Witkop) Hehl. A 1951 graduate of Whitney High School in Toledo, she obtained her licensure in cosmetology. Shirley was employed by Washington Local Schools as a playground supervisor at Wernert Elementary for many years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, she served on community-based and church committees for several years.
While working at Greens Grocer, Toledo, Oh, she met the young man who would be the love of her life, Lynn Paquette. He preceded her in death in 2007. This chance encounter would lead to 54 years of marriage, 5 children, Ricka, Ryan(Sandra), Rebecca, Randi, and Renee’(Tom); 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, Yancy, Yale, Ryan, Clare, Bliss, Austin, Caleb, and Taylor; and 9 great grandchildren, Devon, Jordan, Leah, Skyleigh, Rylynn, Lucas, Nora, Warren, and Joann.
She was an avid gardener, with great knowledge of plants and flowers. She enjoyed, while able, doing her own yardwork. She will always be known to her loved ones as a great cook. She was instrumental in raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of her favorite days of the year was attending the family reunion, where often she would win the award for most grandchildren in attendance. She loved to laugh, and always appreciated a good joke.
Special thanks to sons-in-law, Carl and Tom, who have been a constant source of love, help, and support.
Shirley was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Dean, and sisters, Maxine and Kay.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.
Private interment services will be held at Roselawn memorial park, Lasalle, Michigan.
